Golden bags

Golden bags are the sensational new look samosas of this generation.They are very eye appealing and will be a star of the show of any party.It makes an excellent starter.You may do the  stuffing of your choice,both veg or non veg.I used paneer as the main ingredient for the stuffing here.Other stuffing like corn,potato,babycorn etc may be used.

Ingredients for covering:
Maida-1/2 cup
Suji(fine semolina)-1/4 cup
Baking soda-a pinch
Salt-1/4 tsp
Oil-1/2 tbsp


Ingredients for filling:
Paneer-100 gm
Green  capsicum-1 chopped finely into cubes
Cheese cube-1
Pepper powder-1/2 tsp
Garlic powder-1/tsp
Garlic-1 tsp minced
Paprika powder-1/4 tsp
Roasted garlic flakes-1/2 tsp(optional)
Sugar-a pinch
Salt –to taste
Onion-1 chopped finely
Olive oil-2 tsp


Method:
  1. Mix all the ingredients of the covering and make a dough with warm water like a chapathi dough,keep aside covered for 30 minutes.
  2. To prepare the filling heat 1 tsp oil and fry the minced garlic and stir for few seconds.
  3. Add onions,capsicum and fry for few more mintues.
  4. Add all the powders and cook for  a minute.
  5. Turn off the flame and add sugar and salt to taste
  6. Add grated cheese,mix slightly and cool it .

How to proceed:

  1. Make 15 round balls of the dough and roll one at a time into a small round.
  2. Put a tsp of filling in the centre and pick up the sides and press at the neck to form a money pouch similar to momos.
  3. Tie the neck with  a thin lemon grass if you have.
  4. Heat oil and deep fry the bags,adjusting the flame to a golden brown color.
  5. Serve hot with sauce.
