Thandai(Holi special)
Holi is a festival of colours.Who doesn’t like this season when it brings so much of joy and happiness around as the season itself is so gay.Holi is also called as the Spring festival. It is celebrated in the month of March .I still remember my first holi after my marriage which I celebrated in Mumbai which is very memorable to me.We had also celebrated the previous day holi function, which is known as the small holi where they lit bonfire and where we all offered grams to the holy fire.Real fun is on the Dday where people apply colour to each other and have fun, with kids playing colours with the pichkaris(water gun filled with colour water). There is also a tradition of consuming bhang(type of alcohol) to enhance the spirit of holi.
After the fun filled day people visit their friends and relatives and exchange sweets. This festival is commonly celebrated in North India and in Mumbai.People of all the religion and community take part in the festival and it spreads the spirit of integrity in the society. Holi is one of the major festival of India where entire country wears an festive look.Women folks in North India start their prior preparation by preparing Gujias, namkeens etc in advance.I had many things in mind, but this season I’m always stuck with my kids exams…The common drink prepared is Thandai where bhang is added to the drink originally. But my recipe here is alcohol free.Happy Holi everyone!

Method:
