Instant Oats idli

I had  never ever thought I would be cooking oats idli someday,had not even thought of having oats alone.Now due to its health benefits I’m a big fan of Oats.This idli is a healthier version over our regular idli’s.The idli’s came out very spongy and tasty.As usual Santoshi tempted me to prepare this idli.I had bookmarked many recipes earlier but hadn’t  attempted any.But this measurement came out to be perfect….It is Dil Mange More idli’s to me.I prepared coriander chutney as a combination with this.This may be best prepared when you have unexpected guest as it can be done in a jiffy.I adapted this recipe from Shobana Aunty’s blog with slight modifications.

Makes-24 medium idli

Ingredients:
Instant Oats-2 cups
Bombay Suji-2 cups
Curds-2 cups
Pepper-1 tsp,coarsely ground
Salt- to taste
Water -1 1/2 cups approx
Fruit salt-4 tsp(Eno)


Method:

  1. Powder the oats finely.
  2. Take the powdered oats in a wide bowl,mix rawa,salt,pepper powder and curds to it.
  3. Add water and make a pouring consistency like that of idli.
  4. Leave it aside for 10-12 minutes.
  5. Grease the idli plates.
  6. Lastly add fruit salt and mix it well.
  7. Pour a ladle of batter in the greased plates and steam it for 15 minutes.
  8. Serve it hot with chutney.
