Gova Kane Godshe /Broken wheat Payasam

This payasam is served in temple during our famous Kodial teru and also made during festivities in g.s.b household. I made it for the first time and it came out very good. Sharing the recipe below. Do give it a try and feel free to send me the feedback.

Ingredients

Gova kane /Broken wheat big variety 1 cup

Water 2.5 cups to 3 cups approx

Jaggery 500g

Cardamom powder 2 pinches

Salt 1 pinch

Coconut milk 1 coconut or store bought 400ml

Method :

Wash the broken wheat , add water.

Add some tender cashewnuts.

Pressure cook it for 4 to 5 whistles.

Simmer for 5 minutes.

Once cooked , wait until pressure releases and open the lid.

Melt jaggery and strain it.

Addd melted jaggery to the cooked broken wheat.

Add salt.

Cook until it thickens.

Add coconut milk and cook it for 4 to 5 minutes.

Add cardamom powder.

Garnish with dry fruits.
