Mooga Upkari/ Sprouted green gram

This one’s a Konkani classic . Made with kirlaile(sprouted green gram), we play with variations . This time, I soaked sprouts in water to remove the skin. You may add curry leaves for better flavour. Goes well with rice and dhalithoy. A simple comforting meal!

Ingredients

– Sprouted green gram – 2 cups

– Coconut oil – 1 tsp

– Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

– Cumin seeds – 1 tsp.

– Green chillies – 3

– Curry leaves – few (_optional_)

– Salt & sugar – to taste – Grated coconut – for garnish – Method 1. Heat oil, crackle mustard + cumin, toss curry leaves & chillies .

2. Add sprouts + water. Season salt & sugar.

3. Lid on, low flame → _done_.

4. Garnish with grated coconut . Serve!

You may add red chillies in the tadka.You may add onions too.
