Pomfret rawa fry
I have already mentioned in the space that I will be making separate posts for different fish though the recipe applies the same for most of them.Today I’m sharing Pomfret rawa fry recipe. My son Pratham loves Pomfret rawa fry very much and he prefers to keep the fish whole just like restaurant style. You may also slice the fish and prepare this fry. You may prepare this recipe with other fish like silver fish,mackerel, seer fish, lady fish etc. Adjust the spices of the marinade as per your taste.
Ingredients for the marinade:
Whole pomfret – 1
Kashmiri Chilly powder-4 tsp
Bengal gram flour(besan)-2 tsp
Asafoetida-1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Salt-to taste
Ajwain – few seeds , optional
Other ingredients:
Chiroti rawa(fine semolina) or Bombay rawa-as much as needed
Coconut oil-to deep fry
Method:
- Clean the fish well.
- Marinate the fish with all the ingredients mentioned under marinade for 1 hour or over night.
- Heat oil and coat the marinated fish in chiroti rawa on both the sides and deep fry.
- You may tawa fry too.
- Serve it hot with onion rings.
