Kismur, a classic Goan dish, is made with dried fish or shrimps, onions, chilies, and coconut. “We recently ordered dried shrimps from @mrmasala, and they were incredibly fresh and flavorful. Cleaning them was a team effort, but it was worth it. I’ve been wanting to make kismur for ages, and I’m thrilled to have finally made it!””In GSB style, we traditionally grind the masala with coriander seeds and add other ingredients, but the Goan version is a quicker, instant recipe.

Ingredients-

250g dried shrimps

2 tbsp coconut oil

1 onion, chopped-

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp chilly powder-

1-2 chopped green chilies

1/4 cup grated coconut

2 tsp tamarind extract-

Chopped coriander leaves for garnish

Method

1. Remove heads and tails from dried shrimps, wash, and drain completely.

2. Heat 1 tbsp coconut oil and roast dried shrimps until fragrant. Set aside.

3. In the same pan, add 1 more tbsp oil and sauté chopped onions lightly.

4. Turn off heat and stir in turmeric powder, chilly powder, chopped green chilies, and grated coconut.

5. Combine roasted dried shrimps with the onion-coconut mixture and tamarind pulp.

6. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.Enjoy your delicious Goan-style dried shrimp kismur!
