Doddak

Just received some delightful Doddak video clips from my aunt! She’s an amazing cook, and her skills remind me of my Mamama. During COVID, she’d send us cooking videos in our family group – way before reels were a thing. Check out my reel in my instagram page. Sharing the recipe here.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups dosa rice
  • 2 full coconuts, grated
  • Salt to taste
  • Coconut oil for roasting
  • Mustard seeds for tempering

Method:

  1. Soak dosa rice overnight, grind coarsely.
  2. Grind grated coconut to a fine paste.
  3. Mix both, keep batter thick, add salt.
  4. Heat pan, add coconut oil, splutter mustard seeds.
  5. Pour batter, roast on both sides.
  6. Serve hot with chutney!
